Sharjah Media City Free Zone is the newest media Free Zone in the UAE, located 5 minutes from Sharjah International Airport and a 15 minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Over 2,000 companies have incorporated their business in SHAMS since it was launched in January 2017 and for this reason, it is considered one of the fastest growing Free Zones in the UAE.

The Emirate of Sharjah serves as the epicenter of history, culture and heritage. Sharjah joined the federation of the UAE in 1972 as the founder member as a leader at the forefront of the UAE’s cultural, economic and social development. Sharjah earned its title as the ‘Cultural Emirate of the UAE’ and the ‘Cultural Capital’ of the Arab World in 1998. Heritage, history and language are celebrated on a yearly basis in Sharjah.

Although the title of the city might suggest that it’s restricted to media activities, SHAMS welcome investors who wish to open businesses in a variety of sectors. The Free Zone is currently located in a temporary office that offers its clients the shared desk facility where they can run their companies. However, the vast construction of the Free Zone will commence in Q4 of 2018, making a wider range of business activities available for future entrepreneurs, such as those in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. In addition to the office spaces, SHAMS will also provide creative units, like showrooms, studios and community areas, to instill innovation and creativity amongst its members.

What’s best about SHAMS Free Zone is that opening a business does not require your physical presence in the UAE. If you are outside the UAE but you plan on establishing a new business in SHAMS, it is possible for this to be done remotely with your license issued within 3-4 days at most.

SHAMS also provide an option for Holding Company's as well as the newly introduced, Social Media Influencer License which other Free Zone’s do not yet offer.
